A Penny's Worth of Thought: Re-Orientation

January 14, 2015, 7:56 AM
If you were asked what are the most important aspects of the Christian life, how would you answer?

Now, If you were asked what is your church most in need of, what would you answer?

The truth is that the answer for the both should be the same.  God’s people are the church.  Yet, somehow as Christians and believers in Christ we tend to separate the two.

I Corinthinas 12:12, 27

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

The people are the church.  The local church is the local body and all true believers make up the body of Christ globally.   We each serve different purposes and functions but we all are to work together.

Love is the basis for all aspects as a Christian.  We can love because God first loved us.  We are commanded to Love God with all our heart, and love others as we would ourselves.

The primary aspects needed in your life and in the church is to have an attitude of service.  Service comes out of love and an attitude of service is what drives the desire to volunteer, or perhaps better said, to surrender to service.

Missions, nursery workers, small group teachers, evangelism, volunteering in the community all comes from an attitude of service.

Revival may be the great need of our church’s today and but revival begins at home in our hearts and it is brought about by God through an attitude of service!

We are called to be the servants of God!  Servants serve because they have the surrendered to service.

Oh Christian, pray that God would re-orient your thinking to be that of a servant.  That he would open our eyes to the need of an attitude of service.

What would happen in our lives, our homes, our communities, our church’s if all of God’s people would surrender to service?

It just might change your life.  It just might change the world!
