A Penny's Worth of Thought:Deep Impact
December 17, 2014, 8:23 AM

What kind of impact are you having on the people you encounter each day?

Whether you realize it or not, your life affects every person you interact with.  Either it is a positive affect or a negative, and there really is no neutral ground.  Your life will affect others.

The book of Romans is written to a people that Paul had never met.  Yet he longed to go to meet them and encourage them in building up their faith in God and their faith to walk the life of a believer in Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:11 “For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established.”

As believers in Christ, we should share Paul’s desire to be a blessing to everyone that we cross paths with.  Our spouse, children, family and friends are certainly included, but also co-workers and strangers that we pass by on this journey of life.

Is your/my self-centerdness causing us to only seek to be blessed as opposed to desiring to impart a blessing?  Do you constantly seek what others can do for you or how you can encourage them?

Only when we focus on being a blessing rather than receiving a blessing can we have the quality of ministry and testimony that Paul had in his ministry.

You may not realize it, but your life has the potential to bless everyone that you encounter.  Pray that God would give you an unselfish heart seeking to make a deep impact of good for the cause of Christ.  Focus on strengthening your fellow Christian brothers and sisters and being a walking witness of God’s love to others that may not know Christ.

As you go about your day pray that God would allow you to make a deep and lasting positive impact on everyone you encounter.
